Building the Dance Community
Positively building the Dance Community is a priority for Ignite Dance Competition. We provide an uplifting atmosphere on and off stage for dancers to grow and thrive in.
FREE Convention Classes
Each weekend you will find free convention-style classes from one of our highly-esteemed judges throughout the schedule. Styles will vary and dancers will be divided by age. Look at your studio's weekend schedule for more details on our classes each weekend.
Payment Plans
Ignite offers flexible payment plans up until 30 days before the event. This allows you to see your studio's balance in your DanceBug Account and make payments as frequently as you would like until the balance is paid in full. All balances must be paid 30 days before the first day of the competition.
Professional Judges & Faculty
Our judges and faculty are not only dancers and performers, they are educators and are invested in the next generation of dancers. At Ignite, we aim to make each weekend one you will remember.
No more late nights or early mornings
Ignite commits to no late-night award shows or early morning starts. We cap the number of routines that can register in each city to make this possible. We want our dancers and families to feel refreshed and recharged during and after a long weekend of competing.
Mental Wellness Certified
We always have at least 3 staff members onsite that have gone through Danscend's training and are Certified Mental Wellness Dance Educators.
Regional Champions
In every city, Ignite will crown Regional Champions, our solo title competition. This competition is open to dancers competing in the Competitive or Elite category.
Improv Competition
Ignite holds an Improv Competition each weekend which provides the opportunity for dancers to showcase their musicality, technique, and performance. Dancers will compete in their age divisions of Mini/Petite, Junior, Teen, and Senior. If a division is smaller than 5 dancers, age divisions may be combined. Winners of each category will be named as Regional Improv Winner.
Ignite Awards
Ignite hands out Best in Category, Overall High Scores, Judges Awards, Top Choreography, and Technical Excellence throughout the weekend. Through these awards, we want to recognize the hard work and dedication the dancers and dance teachers put into each routine.
“What makes Ignite stand out from other competitions is the family environment. The staff make a point to personally acknowledge studio staff, parents, and dancers, even remembering dancers or parents from year to year. Through this deliberately cultured environment and through events such as the Ignite Convention, the Ambassador program, and Opening number at Nationals, Ignite also fosters multi-studio interaction. Our dancers have formed lasting friendships with dancers from other studios. They look forward to seeing them at Ignite each season and enjoying their dance journey together. We appreciate Ignite for being a competition that embodies a competitive, yet unified community environment. We are all in this together to develop amazing dancers and humans!” - Sharon Cooksey, DanceXpressions
“We continuously choose Ignite because every single event is about celebrating the dancers. No matter the age, level, or stage they are at in their dance education, Ignite prioritizes the growth and hard work it took for the dancer to get where they are in that point in time. Often dancers can feel defeated leaving a competitive atmosphere, but at Ignite, dancers leave feeling uplifted by the support of the judges and staff recognizing their talent and bravery from every aspect of Ignite’s events: the competition stage, improv challenge, the free convention classes, and so many other wonderful opportunities. We will continue to choose Ignite because in the end, it is ALWAYS about celebrating the dancers and their artistry!” - Anna Holland, The Dance Company
