Dance Competition with affordable entry fees

How will you keep our dancer's safe given the current climate?

At Ignite keeping our dancers, their families, and our staff safe is a top priority. You can read more about our health and safety protocols that we have implemented for 2021 HERE.

What are the different competition levels?

  • Recreational- This level is for beginner dancers and provides introduction to the completion stage. The dancer may not take more than 3 hours of dance a week.
  • Competitive- This level is for intermediate dancers who may take up to 6 hours of dance per week.
  • Elite- This level is for experienced dancers who dance for 7 or more hours per week

What are the different age divisions?

  • Mini- 4 to 6 years old
  • Petitie- 7 to 9 years old
  • Junior- 10 to 12 years old
  • Teen- 13 to 15 years old
  • Senior- 16 to 18 years old
  • Adult- 19+ years old

Do you accept independent registrations?

Yes! All independent entries are non-refundable.

Are the public allowed to take photos or videos during competition?

Video cameras and still cameras are prohibited inside all competition venues. We reserve the right to confiscate all recording devices (including cellular devices).

What awards are given during each competition?

  • Category High Score for each level and age division
  • Highest Score of the Weekend
  • Ignite and Inspire Awards (judges will have the ability to give up to 3 awards to pieces that inspire them)
  • Choreography Award
  • Technical Excellence Award
  • Most Memorable Award
  • Ignite Studio of the Weekend (presented to a studio that shows good sportsmanship and exemplifies the Ignite Team core values)

Are shows open to the public, and if so, is there a fee to watch?

Yes, all competitions are open to the public and there is no fee to watch.

What are convention classes and are they included in the price?

We offer free convention style classes throughout each weekend taught by our judges or one of our team members. Classes will be divided by age and will vary in dance style.  A dancer must be competing with Ignite that weekend in order to take one of our free master classes.

What is the brand ambassador program and how do I get involved?

The ambassador program gives dancers the opportunity to represent Ignite Dance Competition. There is a three part application process and ambassadors are hand-selected by the executive director. Top soloists and regional improv winners are also invited to apply. Learn More.

What is your refund policy?

Refunds are at the sole discretion of Ignite Dance Competition. If Ignite cancels an event due to COVID19, your studio will receive a full refund if we are unable to provide a rescheduled date or virtual option that works for your studio's schedule.
